Where fire is concerned, in my view there’s a limit to what anything plastic will stand up to before the melting process takes place however due to metal sheds not having a built-in floor does that mean the fire will simply spread underneath, ruin all your storage leaving a burnt out shell standing there – I think so.
Outdoor storage structures are our specialty. We craft each building with attention to detail and quality that will ensure years of use and enjoyment. We build and finish each shed and cabin at our shop in Salem, Indiana and deliver straight to your back yard.
Bear in mind that most plastic sheds are not made to bolt shelving to the walls. If anything, you may have enough room to add floor standing shelves, which will, of course, take up valuable floor space

If you've got lots of spare room, you could go for a larger wooden shed for your garden. With loads of room for lawnmowers and large garden equipment, as well as useful places to store smaller items like flower pots and trowels, large sheds are an ideal place to keep your gardening supplies protected against the elements.
Next, decide what style roof you prefer: We offer both peaked gable roof sheds and slanted lean-to roof styles. Finally, please take a look at the plan itself to make sure you understand the materials list, measured drawings, and directions before you commit.
Vinyl is made from polyvinyl chloride (PVC). Vinyl is also a synthetic plastic polymer.
You can also use the national expense average for building a shed, which goes from $17 to $24 per sq. ft.
Using wood as the structural component of a storage building means that you can easily customize the inside. You can insulate the walls if at some point you decide that you would like to control the climate in the shed. You can add shelving and organizing boards (imagine trying to pound a nail in the wall of a plastic shed). You can run wires through the walls for electricity. Basically anything that you can do on the inside of your house can be done to the inside of a wood-framed storage shed.
Let us know what you're using your California Custom Shed for, so we can help you create a shed to fit your needs. Our customers have used our buildings for more than just your ordinary backyard garden storage shed. Many have customized our storage sheds for potting sheds, tack rooms, hobby & train rooms. Some have used our buildings for motorcycles, golf carts, or riding lawn mowers. (One customer even parked a 1956 Cadillac in one of our sheds!) Others have used our sheds for a paint studio, guard shacks, offices, a dry shelter for a favorite pet, firewood storage, well pump house, or a ticket booth. Whatever your needs may be, visit us at our display lot located between Salinas and Prunedale on HWY. 101 (El Camino Real North) & Ralph Lane, and we will be happy to help you customize a building to fullfill your needs. We have over 30 buildings on display, which will show you the quality of our storage sheds, and give you many ideas you can apply towards your own building.
